KC Chiefs 17 Green Bay 13
In a game loaded with backup players the Chiefs raced out to a 14-0 lead and won their final pre-season game of this season, their first pre-season win since beating the Rams in the 2008 Governor's Cup game. Matt Cassel threw a two yard touchdown pass to Leonard Pope in the first quarter, set up by a 30 yard completion to Dwayne Bowe down to the Packer three. Two series later Jackie Battle scored on a one yard plunge, set up by his own 50 yard run. The Packers, who went three and out on their first four possessions, finally got on the board with a Mason Crosby field goal late in the second quarter, then got within 14-10 on a short TD run by Kregg Lumpkin in the third quarter. Ryan Succop kicked a field goal later in the period and all Green Bay could muster was another Crosby three pointer in the fourth quarter. The Chiefs open the regular season a week from Monday at home against San Diego.
